Welcome to the internet presentation of the Regional Conservation Foundation of Saxony!
On this page you will find helpful information on the following topics:
The Regional Conservation Foundation of Saxony consists of three main sections: the Academy, the Conservation Fund and the National Park Centre. Our internet page is also split up into these three sections.
The Academy provides you with information on various aspects of environmental education. This includes the half-yearly programme featuring events from many different areas of environmental education, many regional, national and international projects, the environmental library and the voluntary ecological year (FÖJ).
The Conservation Fund was founded in 1992 under Saxon Conservation Law. It is responsible for the sustainable sponsorship of projects with the conservation and protection of nature and landscapes in mind. Its fields of activity also include public relations projects on conservation and environmental education, such as actions like the "great Saxony nut hunt" and "Fledermaus komm ins Haus" (a project aimed at finding new homes for bats).
Under National Park Centre you will find all the information you need on the information centre in Bad Schandau, the latest events and the national park region of Sächsisch-Böhmische Schweiz.
To the left you will find the main navigation fields. These will take you to the three main sections mentioned above, and also to general information on the Regional Foundation of Saxony, the whereabouts of the Foundation, how to contact us, etc.
You can adapt the website to suit your individual needs.
You can change the views of our site by selecting one of the following fields at the top of the page:
With this field, you can change the view of the page to the standard view you found at the beginning of your visit. On a monitor with a resolution of at least 800 by 600 pixels, you should see the picture in its entire breadth.
With this field you can enlarge the standard view. The text and all other elements are enlarged.
This field will take you to a view with the highest possible level of contrast. There are no images apart from on the contents of the pages, making the texts easy to read. However if possible we recommend using one of the first two possibilities, as they give you the best overall view of the contents of the various pages.
The field you select remains in operation during your entire visit to our page. Should this not be the case, it is possible that you have switched off "cookies". This means you will have to select the view you require on each individual page. Here we recommend that you reactivate "cookies".
If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you will also be able to switch to different views without reloading the page. To do this, select view on the menu under Website style. There you will find the various view selections listed above.
One way of adjusting the typeface size is by selecting one of the above views. Alternatively, you can use the internal functions of your browser as follows:
The internet pages of the Regional Foundation of Saxony are designed to work using acoustic or tactile functions. At the beginning of each page you will find three skip links which will take you quickly either to the navigator, to the actual contents of the pages or to our current activities. All sections and operating elements or navigators have their own headings, so that you can move around the page easily using the heading function of your screen reader. Longer texts are split up into subdivisions with subheadings to ensure that this function works smoothly.
The pages are designed so that all functions are available using the keyboard only – of course this also applies to special appliances such as the one-finger keyboard or head operated mouse. Because of the well-known problems associated with access keys we have made no provisions for them, but have opted instead for setting up the contents in as logical and user-friendly a way as possible. Skipping commands are available using the keyboard to shorten the way to navigation, contents or current actions. We recommend those persons with impeded fine motor activity or those using devices that hinder accuracy to select the third viewing possibility. Here, menu selection items are easy to hit using any kind of aid.
It may be helpful for persons with very poor eyesight to view the pages without graphic illustration or in the print preview. Mozilla Firefox offers a very easy possibility of switching off the layout under the menu item view -> page style -> no style. The print preview is available in all large browsers under File - Print Preview.
We have attempted to keep the internet pages of the Regional Conservation Foundation of Saxony as free from barriers as possible. In spite of the great care we have taken, we may of course have made mistakes. If you encounter a serious fault, or have problems whilst visiting our website, please send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and describe the problem. We will do our best to find a solution.
