Great water!

The Environment Bus from the Saxony State Foundation for Nature and the Environment challenges all school students to get involved on behalf of their domestic water. There are many ways to do this:

  • Organised plant campaigns!
  • Get some knowledge about the ecology of water!
  • Help remove non-indigenous plants!
  • Find out more about flood protection!
  • Pick up rubbish!
  • Alongside others, make help make sure that our ecosystems are kept in good condition for the future!
  • Develop projects which help these aims yourself!

This means you will be involved in a UNO initiative, the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014). The body behind this Decade is UNESCO on behalf of the UNO.

The staff in the mobile environment units and other environmental education institutions in Saxony would be delighted you help you with this.

In 2012, the campaign “Great Water - Students for Saxony’s Water” was recognised as a Decade Project for Education in Sustainable Development.

In the campaigns shown you can gather the knowledge needed for sustainable development. We all need to be aware that our behaviour here and now has an impact on generations to follow, both here and in other parts of the world.
