Importance as a Natural Protected Area:

The site is the Neiss meadow region and is within the “Neiss Area” FFH area. This is why the area has special European level protection status.

It consists partly of a specially protected biotope, characterised by poor, species-diverse, fresh meadows. The kinds of animals found there include dragonflies such as green snake tail, as well as otters, and scarce large blue butterflies.

By acquiring the sites, the LaNU Nature Protection Fund has ensured the long term preservation of this area in the context of nature protection.

Conservation and Development:

The area is cut late once a year.
